Veracruz. – Tensions and speculations ended in the 22nd Central American and Caribbean Games with the luxurious closing ceremony.

The Mexican State organized with success a mega event which was besieged by organizing problems and the fear in matte of security since they were granted the venue. And Cuba turned into pieces the predictions that it would lose the regional hegemony in front of a numerous local delegation and well trained which leaded the event until the end.

Our representatives gifted us with great demonstrations to entertain fans which were faithful and attentive. They are now focused on the PanAmerican Games of Toronto.

 Gold and Silver with all the Heart

During the 22nd Central American and Caribbean Games, the joy of the Cubans lasted until the last day of competition. On Sunday, November 30, Cuban runner Richer Perez from Havana won the Marathon to become part of the regional history in this region.

It was also historical the performance of runner Dailin Belmonte who won the silver medal. “I fought for the golden medal, but it could not be, nevertheless, it was another way to gift our people”, she said.

Beach Volleyball Double Battle

Beach volleyball got convincing victories either in masculine than feminine competitions to close this event with medals 122 and 123 in these 22nd Central American and Caribbean Games held in Veracruz, Mexico.

Mireya Luis, methodologist of this discipline said she is satisfied with the performance of the players. “We trusted on them, fought, so they would be able to be well trained and here are the medals.”
