Cuban deputies are debating issues at the center of interest of the people as part of activities prior to the ordinary session of the Cuban Parliament’s 8th Legislature.

A draft Labor Code, which was discussed by all workers, will be on the spotlight of debates for approval, as well as issues related to the economy, the state budget and economic plans for 2014.

The agenda also includes analysis of results stemming from projects related to the update of the country’s economic model, such as the performance of service cooperatives.

Other issues on the focus of the deputies are related to subsidies and credit lines for self-effort construction and repairs of homes, Granma newspaper reported.

The lawmakers will gather in plenary session to analyze the reports by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the General Comptroller’s Office.

The Second Session of the Cuban Parliament will take place Friday, December 21.
