Cuban workers are living through defining times, filled with love for the land that gave us birth. Today, we express this most concretely with our support for the pronouncements of the First Secretary of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, on the 65th Anniversary of the socialist character of the Revolution, and for the Declaration of the Cuban Revolutionary Government: Girón is today and always!
Once again, it is necessary to denounce the true culprit and its policy of blockade, aggression, and military threats. At the same time, we reaffirm our humanist vocation, our aspiration to live in peace, and to build the society of all and for the good of all that José Martí dreamed of and Fidel Castro made reality with the triumph of January 1, 1959.
In the hardest of scenarios, the revolutionary government constantly seeks alternatives to ease daily tensions; it promotes creation, research, the generation of ideas, and solutions to everyday problems with the active, bold, and proactive participation of workers.
Working united, creative, firm, and convinced that we will overcome adversity—whatever it may be—is our only philosophy of life. Fidel called on us to emancipate ourselves by our own efforts. And that is what we do in the year we celebrate his centenary.
My Signature for the Homeland means:
defending life, the dreams of our children, adolescents, and youth
caring for our families, elders, and working people
building a better world and globalizing solidarity
standing against war, crimes, and genocides
defending what is just and true
an act of unity in love for the Homeland, its independence, and sovereignty
rejecting the criminal imperialist blockade, interference, and external pressures
We will continue building our future. Cuba does not surrender. The Homeland is defended. And we count on the firmness, resistance, and strength of the united people to achieve this.
Millions of honest people, organizations, institutions, and solidarity groups—who have overcome lies and media intoxication—accompany us these days in Cuba to celebrate May 1st and reaffirm that we are not alone.
Those who oppose us will never bend Cuba, because we are a people of Homeland or Death. And we shall overcome!
