Under a format that combines virtual professional management with in-person exchange, the International Tourism Fair, FITCuba 2026, will take place from May 7 to 9. This alternative is very much in line with the consequences of the energy challenges caused by the intensification of the economic war waged by the United States government against the country.

The agenda of the event—considered the most important organized by the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR)—is designed so that on May 7 and 8, the commercial negotiation sessions will be held entirely through a specialized virtual platform, according to Travel Trade Caribbean.
As is traditional, May 9 will be dedicated to the general public in person at Josone Park in Varadero, as part of a program for which the organizing teams are finalizing technical arrangements to ensure the success of the event.
The report specifies that in the coming weeks, tourism authorities will send a detailed bulletin with connection protocols, the design of virtual spaces, and other information of interest for media coverage.
MINTUR expressed gratitude for the attention and regular follow-up to this important event in the Cuban tourism sector, which each year brings together professionals, tour operators, travel agencies, and hoteliers from around the world to promote Cuba as a destination and establish commercial partnerships.
Although the note does not confirm whether the first two days of FITCuba 2026 sessions will be held in Varadero, it is assumed that the famous resort will continue to host the prominent meeting in its 44th edition.
With its 22 kilometers of beach, transparent waters, and rich history and indigenous culture, Varadero is the most preferred and internationally recognized leisure destination in Cuba. It is also distinguished by caves such as Ambrosio, Calero, Saturno, Abono, Florencio, and Santa Catalina—the latter notable for its stone mushrooms, unique formations in the world.
Founded on December 5, 1887, Cuba’s main resort began its tourism boom in 1990. Today, it hosts 57 hotels with 23,106 rooms and receives around 39 percent of the international tourists who visit the country.
