Don’t worry for those who arrive after the bus has passed, because we will be constantly on the move and if not on the first trip, we will pick you up on the second or other trips that we will give until the same day of the workers’ anniversary.

There is no need to worry about capacity either, as everyone will have room in this Guagua.

And although the current passengers were managed by the correspondents of Trabajadores in the provinces, as well as local press media, contributions are welcome from anyone who wishes. Those who are interested in reflecting the celebrations in their area, please put the data provisionally in the Digital Comments which will be a kind of waiting room until we process them and bring them on board.

LA HABANA

In honor of Lenin and May Day

What we will experience on International Workers’ Day at the Anti-imperialist Tribune was brought forward at the historic Lenin Hill, in the overseas municipality of Regla, where the provincial May Day event was held in Havana.

On behalf of the Cuban workers, on the 154th anniversary of his birth, homage was paid to Vladimir Ilich Lenin with a wreath placed at the foot of the Hill, where an image of the leader of the world proletariat is carved in stone.

Convened by the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba and its unions, workers from all sectors in Matanzas mobilized on Sunday in the 13 municipalities to support the movement for a cleaner, more beautiful and productive province.

There was sanitation work, masonry, painting and support for food production, in addition to finalizing details to once again hold a memorable parade for the World Day of the Proletariat.

In Jovellanos, there was a significant participation of the Cuba Libre basic cooperative production unit (UBPC), where more than four hectares of sugarcane were planted, another step in the efforts to fulfill the plan foreseen for this period.

Another point of great contribution was the zeoponic located in Cárdenas, the prominent daily food source favored by these mobilizations and by the changes of work during the week, days in which workers stop their usual work to contribute to the production of food.

A Parade Without Means of Automotive Transportation

A preview of the joy and patriotism that will distinguish the May Day parade in Sancti Spíritus was offered by hundreds of workers in the plenary meeting convened by the CTC at the Sala Yara sports facility, where representatives of the 15 unions assured their attendance to the march for the International Workers’ Day.

In this way, the workers’ movement of the province  warmed up the engines so that the days prior to the celebration of the World Proletariat Day would transcend for the contributions to the economic recovery of the nation and the support to the ideals of the Cuban Revolution.

The secretary general of the CTC in the province, Ekaterina Gowen Dickinson, explained that although other territories in the country will hold rallies this May Day, in Sancti Spíritus the traditional parade will be held without using fuel-powered means of transportation.

Congas, posters and initiatives from the workplaces were presented at the plenary session organized at the PCC Provincial School in Camagüey by representatives of the 15 unions and labor collectives who showed some of these ideas for the May Day parade in the Plaza de la Revolución Mayor General Ignacio Agramonte.

These organizational meetings are being held these days in workplaces and at the municipal level to discuss the details of the mobilization and to ensure that May Day becomes an expression of the commitment of the working masses to move forward.

On this occasion there will be no parade with transportation equipment and people will have to arrive at the event by their own means, explained Kelvin Culley Perez, member of the provincial secretariat of the CTC.

LAS TUNAS

This May Day, some 102 thousand workers and their families will parade in the Plaza de la Revolución Mayor General Vicente García, in Las Tunas, to reaffirm the popular unity around the Revolution and socialism, and the unwavering decision to defend them against the constant imperial aggressions.

Odalis Batista Perez, general secretary of the Provincial Committee of the CTC said that the concentration at the agreed points will begin at 6:30 am on the first day to start the march an hour later and adds that the remaining seven municipalities will develop similar marches as a culmination of the celebrations already held in neighborhoods, communities and bateyes as an expression of a feeling that puts in first place the destiny of the nation, and watches and acts to defend it from the hegemonic desire of imperialism and its stubborn pretension to defeat the Revolution.

The workers’ leader is convinced that the World Proletariat Day march will be «another demonstration of revolutionary reaffirmation, and of the unshakable faith in the victory instilled and cultivated by the invincible Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, whose legacy inspires the current generations and those grateful for the battles of these times,» she emphasizes.

Some 20,000 people, including workers and their families, will attend the neighborhood events to be held in the communities of Granma as activities prior to May Day, World Proletariat Day.

The first events of this type took place on April 26 in Bayamo, the head municipality of the province, where nine rural localities held their parade to corroborate the unity of the people and the support for the social system that is being built despite the shortages and difficulties imposed by the United States government through an economic blockade that has been in place for more than six decades.

Yanet Gómez Cutiño, general secretary of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba in the territory said that the locality of Mabay is the largest in terms of number of participants, among which young people prevail.

The workers’ leader pointed out that among the commitments that have been assumed there is the planting of 12 hectares of sugar cane, which will guarantee part of the raw material for the Arquímedes Colina sugar mill, one of the most important in Granma for its productive capacity and for providing the base for the production of alcohol and brandy in the Derivados Business Unit, located on its premises.

During these days and in the heat of the celebrations for the advent of the commemoration, labor groups are declared «May Day Centers» to stimulate good work in production, economic management and union activities.

HOLGUÍN

Massive and Colorful Parade in San Andrés

With the participation of nearly 2,500 workers from the 15 unions in Holguin, a May Day plenary meeting was held, which was as exciting as the traditional parades for International Workers’ Day.

The sports athenaeum «Fernando de Dios», located in the head municipality, was filled this Thursday with about 2,500 workers from all sectors, who in a friendly competition showed their encouragement and initiatives for the upcoming parade in front of the Plaza de la Revolución «Calixto García».

Each of the 15 unions exposed the motivations with which they will celebrate the World Day of the Proletariat and in their speeches the words unity, commitment and victory stood out.

In San Andres, the May Day parade was massive and colorful, with the workers of the town celebrating the World Proletariat Day, in the central square of the Holguin town with the attendance of more than a thousand San Andresinos.

Leading the march were Joel Queipo Ruiz, member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba in Holguín; Osmani Viñals García, first secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Party and also present were Idalmis Serrano Gómez and Tamara Ávila Leyva, general secretaries of the CTC in the province and municipality of Holguín, respectively.

SANTIAGO DE CUBA

Inventive for Colorful Rallies and Parades

During these days in Santiago de Cuba, rallies are being prepared in eight of the nine municipalities of the province, as well as the parade in the Plaza de la Revolución Antonio Maceo.

Each of the 15 unions represented in this southeastern province is holding meetings with administrative and union representatives to organize everything related to the peak of the May Day celebrations.

Yanet Pérez, member of the CTC secretariat in Santiago de Cuba said that in the midst of shortages and limitations, inventiveness is also worth in order to give color to the rallies and the parade, «and no doubt, by the results we are seeing, there will be no shortage of posters with slogans related to the date that will be raised with the same hands that made them».

In the plenary sessions, the details of the mobilization are explained and details are given on the place that the workplaces will occupy within the block of each union in question.

Posters, banners, cloths, flags, banners… are being painted these days in workplaces as part of the initiatives to celebrate May Day.

Each of them will be raised at the rallies that will take place in eight municipalities of the province to celebrate the date, and also on International Workers’ Day itself, at the Antonio Maceo Revolution Square in the capital city.

Affiliates of the different unions, with the support of the administrations, gather cardboard, paint, crayon and any other material that can be used to draw logos and write slogans in tune with the revelry that in this 2024 is tinged with the slogan Por Cuba Juntos Creamos (For Cuba Together We Create).

In the interior of the centers, in their exterior areas, as well as on walls of Santiago communities, propaganda about the World Proletarian Day began to appear.
