Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Friday visited the relatives of Cuban Doctor Assel Herrera, who was kidnapped in Kenya in April 2019, along with his colleague, Landy Rodriguez, according to official sources.
The Cuban president told Herrera’s father that the Revolution does not abandon any of its sons, the Presidency of the Republic said on its website.

The meeting took place in eastern Las Tunas province, where Herrera was born, and Diaz-Canel repeated the Cuban Government’s support ‘amid a regrettably lengthy and complex process’, the report added.

The head of State was interested in Herrera’s family, his parents’ health, his daughter’s university studies and the neighbors’ support, the website noted.

Diaz-Canel also assured that tireless efforts are being made, and Cuba is working in coordination with Kenyan authorities to bring home the two physicians, who were kidnapped on their way to work in that African country. (Taken from Prensa Latina)
