Spanish horn player Samuel Perez was the guest at a concert that the National Symphony Orchestra (OSN) of Cuba gave at the Covarrubias Hall of Teatro Nacional de Cuba in Havana on Sunday.
Perez studied at the Higher Music Conservatories in Valencia and Santiago de Compostela. He is currently a professor at the Santa Cruz de Ribadulla School and at the Municipal Conservatory in Melide and Arzua (in La Coruña).

According to organizers of the concert, the program included several premieres in Cuba for the Alpine horn, a curious traditional Swiss wind instrument.

During the concert, Perez played, under the direction of young Cuban Director Cesar Eduardo Ramos, some pieces by Ludwig van Beethoven, Hans-Jürg Sommer, Dennis Armitage, Gottfried Aegler and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Since its establishment in the 1960s, the OSN has been conducted by important maestros, including Aram Jachaturian, from the Soviet Union; Blas Galindo, from Mexico, and Camargo Guarnieri, from Brazil. (Taken from Prensa Latina)
