The Cuban Camagua Folk Company, in its usual summer tour of Europe, concluded its presentations at festivals held in Arroyo de la Encomienda, a town of Valladolid in Spain, and in Pau, France.

camagua-popularComposed of musicians and dancers of Camagüey province, the group performed at the inaugural gala of the Valladolid Festival, which took place at the Plaza de Toros of Arroyo de la Encomienda, along with other guest troupes.
Camagua presented the show «Caribe Soy» with great reception from the public, according to a message sent by e-mail by the group’s director, the Radio Cadena Agramonte Web site reported.
The staging of the «Cuban Suite» included the pieces Por los Campos de mi Cuba and Homenaje. The dance group participated in the workshop «Baila con Nosotros,» held at Plaza de España, where participating groups showed their traditional dances.
For the closing ceremony, Camagua presented its «Cubanisimo» a show that recreates typical Cuban dances.
The Camagua Folk Company, directed by Fernando Medrano, will represent Cuba in July and August at major international European folklore festivals, in Spain, Belgium and France, invited by the Association of Festivals of the South.
In early July, the Cuban company made its debut at the Charles de Gaulle Park of the French town Balaruc le Vieux, and among the main festivals in which it participates we find, among others, the World Folklore Festival of Langon, that of World Cultures of Saint Vicent de Tyrosse, and the Rite Festival of Saint-Girons, all of them in France.
