Gingivival and periodontal illnesses are catalogued among the most common ones of the human being. Gingivitis affects about the 80 percent of the children during school age, and more than the 70 percent of the adult population have suffered gingivitis, periodontal illnesses or even both of them.
Clinical investigations and trials has produced that the lesions due to periodontal illnesses in adults and young people are irreparable, and in the third age, it destroys the great quantity of the natural teeth, depriving many people from them in old age. It varies according to the social, environmental, mouth illnesses and general things factors, and mainly the individual mouth hygiene.
First signs of periodontal illnesses are evident after the patient is 20 years old, and is common to see considerable destruction after the patient is 40.
Nicotine poisoning, stress, diabetes mellitus, brucellosis, wrong adjusted prosthesis, socio-economic factor, diets, way of life are the most dangerous things, also interacting with the origin and evolution of gingival and periodontal illnesses.
The seriousness tends to increase in its evolution without treatment. It progresses and destroys the periodontal tissues, causing important mutilations in the teeth affecting health and way of life.
Actions to stop this are: control of the dental bacterium plaque for early prevention, diagnosis and treatment and the elimination of all the evidences on the surface of the teeth, polishing of these blockings.
This should be done before all the treatment unless the patient suffers leukemia and hemophilia.
