Cargando...A multidisciplinary service for the relief of oncological, osteomyoarticular, orofacial, chronic pelvic pain, and analgesia for childbirth was inaugurated at the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Center in the Versalles neighborhood, in the western province of Matanzas.
This initiative, born from an international cooperation project with the solidarity organization MediCuba, is part of actions aimed at optimizing care in health institutions in this territory. It is among the works launched in tribute to the centenary of the birth of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, which took place on August 13, 1926, in Birán, a town in eastern Cuba.
In the same Versalles district, in the city of Matanzas, a new facility was opened with equipment and the necessary conditions to house a Provincial Genetics Unit, located on the ground floor of the Oncology Center.
On the occasion of the mentioned date, a dental services room was also made ready at the Antonio Guiteras Holmes Provincial Teaching Psychiatric Hospital in Guanábana, intended both for patients of the institution and for residents of nearby areas, according to a report from the newspaper Girón.
These and other investments, the publication noted, were visited by Party and State leaders, headed by Mario Sabines Lorenzo, First Secretary of the Provincial Committee, and Governor Marieta Poey Zamora.
Their tour included new gastronomic and recreational units such as Bar Torres and Café Selecto, the municipal and provincial headquarters of the Cuban Red Cross, and the housing settlement made of container homes along the banks of the San Juan River, now in its final investment stage.
