Hospitality and Tourism Workers Honored on Their Day

Manuel Marrero Cruz, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba and Prime Minister, paid tribute to hospitality and tourism workers on their sector’s day.

“Our recognition and sincere congratulations on your day. Your commitment and professionalism are also part of the attractions that distinguish and make Cuba a unique destination,” he wrote on his X account.

Service providers in this strategic source of foreign currency for the Cuban economy also received words of praise from Juan Carlos García Granda, Minister of Tourism (MINTUR).

“From MINTUR, recognition goes to the men and women of Cuban hospitality and tourism. To those who know the value of a smile and put their heart into their work every day, making each trip to Cuba unforgettable,” he expressed.

In an exclusive statement to this website, Julio Enrique Morales Verea, Secretary General of the National Union of Hospitality and Tourism Workers, highlighted the performance of hundreds of members in a sector that continues to rely on them to face the difficult situation caused by the executive order of President Donald Trump.

Morales Verea expressed confidence in administrative and union leaders, as well as the workforce, to confront new challenges, stressing that optimal management of human resources is essential at this time.

Special morning gatherings and ceremonies honoring merit are being held in hotel and non-hotel collectives, recognizing those who carry out their duties with professionalism.

Beautiful messages of gratitude have also been left on institutional Facebook profiles by clients, mainly from Canada, eager to reunite with workers who make them feel at home.
