Given the country’s present situation, the Cubanacán comprehensive tourism company in Zapata Swamp—an important nature destination in the western province of Matanzas—has made adjustments to both its hotel and non-hotel operations.
Measures include the temporary suspension of facilities and workforce management in accordance with the Labor Code, reported the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power (AMPP) on its Facebook profile.
It was decided to close Playa Girón lodging, the Colibrí restaurant of the Boca de Guamá branch, and the nautical excursion to the Taína Village, while keeping Playa Larga and Guamá hotels open, along with other Cubanacán non-hotel centers.
The AMPP note mentions the implementation of various forms of labor organization, including reduced workdays, telework, remote work, and management according to “the activity levels of each facility.”
The publication specifies that “coordination will be carried out with the Ministry of Labor and Social Security for the relocation of interrupted workers if necessary.”
Actions also foresee operations in units located in towns, with the aim of increasing product and service offerings—a wise decision that will surely be appreciated by residents of those communities.
A very important aspect of this plan involves safety, protection, and maintenance of the equipment and infrastructure of each closed site, which will not only preserve them but also ensure proper functioning once operations resume.
