The New Anti-Cuban Escalation Has Only Hatred as its Justification

The Workers’ Central Union of Cuba (CTCCentral de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC)The CTC (Workers' Central Union of Cuba) was founded on January 28, 1939 by Lázaro Peña under the name Confederación de Trabajadores de Cuba (Confederation of Cuban Workers)), the National Trade Unions, the National Association of Innovators and Rationalizers (ANIR), and the patriotic and revolutionary workers, strongly reject the new and brutal escalation by the current government of the United States to try to bring the Revolution to its knees, precisely in the Year of the Centennial of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro.

The most powerful economic and military force in human history, with a population 30 times greater than Cuba’s, a war budget that multiplies several times the Gross Domestic Product of most of the countries that make up the UN, and the second largest nuclear arsenal in the world, has just declared the dignified and independent Island an “unusual and extraordinary threat” to the national security and foreign policy of the United States.

The convicted criminal under U.S. justice, acting as the emperor of the moment, seeks to dictate orders to countries that sovereignly trade oil with our homeland, demanding they stop doing so under threat of tariffs on their exports to that nation—following the infamous recipe conceived in 1960 by the dark U.S. Undersecretary of State Lester Mallory: “to provoke hunger, desperation, and the overthrow of the government.”

As noted on his X account by the First Secretary of the Communist Party’s Central Committee and President of the Republic, comrade Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, the White House adopted this criminal measure “under a deceitful pretext, empty of arguments, sold by those who make politics and enrich themselves at the expense of our people’s suffering (…)”.

We also endorse what was stated by Cuban Foreign Minister, comrade Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, that every day “there is new evidence that the only threat to peace, security, and stability in the region, and the only malign influence, is that exerted by the U.S. government against the nations and peoples of Our America, whom it seeks to subject to its dictates, strip of their resources, mutilate their sovereignty, and deprive of their independence.”

The new anti-Cuban escalation has only hatred as its justification.

At this crucial moment not only for Cuba, but also for Latin America, the Caribbean, and the world, we recall the warning of National Hero José Martí, the farsighted anti-imperialist who lived inside the monster and knew its entrails: “the trees must stand in line, so that the giant of seven-league boots cannot pass.”

That is why we call upon governments, parliaments, trade union organizations, and solidarity groups with Cuba; upon honest citizens of the world who oppose the fascist, criminal, and genocidal nature of the current U.S. administration, to raise their voices of protest in every possible forum, to condemn this measure, as arbitrary as it is immoral.

The Workers’ Central Union of Cuba (CTCCentral de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC)The CTC (Workers' Central Union of Cuba) was founded on January 28, 1939 by Lázaro Peña under the name Confederación de Trabajadores de Cuba (Confederation of Cuban Workers)), the National Trade Unions, the National Association of Innovators and Rationalizers (ANIR), and the patriotic and revolutionary workers reaffirm our aspiration to build in peace—without blockade or threats—the society “with all and for the good of all” that José Martí dreamed of and that Fidel Castro made reality with the only Revolution that triumphed 67 years ago, as well as our readiness to defend it at whatever price is necessary.
