For Better Union Action

How much more the union movement can do to advance macroeconomic stability, increase and diversify external income; move forward in the development of the business system and the integration of economic actors, as well as reduce crime, corruption, illegalities, and social indiscipline, were topics analyzed by the Secretariat of the Workers’ Central Union of Cuba (CTCCentral de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC)The CTC (Workers' Central Union of Cuba) was founded on January 28, 1939 by Lázaro Peña under the name Confederación de Trabajadores de Cuba (Confederation of Cuban Workers)) in the Isle of Youth.

Presided over by Yusmary Olivera Pupo, general secretary of the CTCCentral de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC)The CTC (Workers' Central Union of Cuba) was founded on January 28, 1939 by Lázaro Peña under the name Confederación de Trabajadores de Cuba (Confederation of Cuban Workers) there, along with other leaders, the meeting held at the headquarters of the union organization also debated compliance with the training strategy; the performance of the decorations system and its approval at the close of the current year; actions to ensure the political process of analysis and discussion with workers regarding the 2026 Economic Plan; and matters related to Resolution 146 of the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic, concerning the methodology for administrative accountability to workers, among other issues.

When analyzing the topic of the decorations and Honorary Titles system during the period, participants were urged to improve preparation, quality, and submission of the files, with solid arguments about the work and trajectory of those proposed.

In this regard, Olivera Pupo emphasized that the CTCCentral de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC)The CTC (Workers' Central Union of Cuba) was founded on January 28, 1939 by Lázaro Peña under the name Confederación de Trabajadores de Cuba (Confederation of Cuban Workers) of the Isle proposes, by the end of 2025, several collectives to aspire to the National Vanguard status: from the Communications, Informatics, and Electronics union: the territorial division of Etecsa, DESOFT, and Radio Cuba; from the Construction union: UEB Mármoles Isla; from the Industries union: the Raw Materials company; from Health: ENCOMED; and from the Transport union: Rafael Cabrera Mustelier Airport, Taxi Cuba, and AGESP-19.

Meanwhile, on the individual level, they proposed processing 39 nominations for the Jesús Menéndez and Lázaro Peña Third Degree medals.

Actions

The debate also focused on compliance with training actions carried out by the municipal bureaus of the unions and the CTCCentral de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC)The CTC (Workers' Central Union of Cuba) was founded on January 28, 1939 by Lázaro Peña under the name Confederación de Trabajadores de Cuba (Confederation of Cuban Workers) in the territory, taking into account the needs of the organization, the guidelines in the governing documents, and the Ideas, Concepts, and Directives of the 8th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba.

Several topics were addressed in this training, among them: the process of presenting the plan and budget; matters related to the disciplinary regulations of the organizations; an update on the prioritized tasks of the union movement; and the improvement of the Socialist State Enterprise.

Also included were ANIRANIRAsociación Nacional de Innovadores y Racionalizadores (Spanish).
Association created in Cuba in 1981 with the aim of promoting and guiding the creative initiative of Cuban workers
, an organization committed to the country’s economic development; banking processes; Government Projections to correct distortions and boost the economy; employment and wage policy; ethics; work on social networks, among others.

At the close, Yusmary spoke of the need to have leaders who are not mere task performers nor wait to be told what to do, but rather men and women who are entrepreneurial, bold, challenging, who feel for this territory and its people, and who are empathetic so they can have greater perception and sensitivity to the problems of others.
