It pains me to think that as you read these lines, images of a friend lost to this disease will come to mind. Of the neighbor who went from being kind and quiet to stealing from his own mother, of those who sold everything because of addiction, or other black scenarios that are harder to relate to.
National Revolutionary Police operations are attempting to get this drug off the streets. Although its exact composition is unknown due to the variety of ingredients used in its manufacture, it has proven to be highly addictive for many individuals.
It is not only in the hands of the authorities that the problem can be stopped. We young people can also help put an end to this plague that spreads like a bird of prey, by informing our neighbors about the harmful effects of the «chemical» and the centers that offer help. The mission of building a better Cuba belongs to all of us, because although the diversity of dreams and goals is infinite, we all want to live in a safer and more prosperous country.
Those who market the «chemical» from every corner should not be fooled into thinking that they can get rich by making people sick and destroying them, because the truth is that prison is a closer destination than success, while those who supply them with this poison sit at home and live at the expense of their freedom. Let us hope that one day this hell does not break out in their homes and, as in many places, devour the whole family.
We are in time to put an end to this cruel reality; this 2025 has just begun, now is the time to join forces to incinerate this drug that kills life and robs illusions and values. Let us be friends and helping hands to those who need it and not gravediggers.
