Cuba’s biggest record company with more than 200 projects this year

Music Recording and Publishing Company (EGREM), the biggest record company in Cuba with almost 55 years and recognized prestige in the country, will be working on more than 200 projects this year.
The director of that entity, Mario Escalona, highlighted the conversation with the artists as a fundamental premise they have and the preparations for the next Cubadisco International Fair, together with the success of the recently developed JazzPlaza International Festival in its 35th edition in Havana and this city.

About the 40 years of the Siboney Studios, founded here by the Commander of the Revolution Juan Almeida, he referred to a wide program of celebrations and, above all, to the purpose of having advanced for that time the expected technological changes.

Escalona said that for EGREM it is vital to maintain this dependence in all its creative capacity because it has been the one that has brought more international awards in recent years, mainly the Grammys.

He also referred to the links that will be established between these record facilities in the Cuban East and those already underway in the city of Camagüey, which will be inaugurated on February 5.

He talked about the consolidation of links with international companies and especially with the Spanish company Altafonte, as well as the good situation with the Sony ATV, after an agreement signed in recent years for the editorial management of Cuban music in the world and its use in audiovisuals and other endeavors.
