I bring a fraternal and solidary message from Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, first secretary of the Party Central Committee, and the Cuban people, for the Bolivarian people and government and President Nicolás Maduro, stated the President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, on arriving in Caracas Wednesday morning.

In what constitutes his first official visit after being elected Head of State and Government, the Cuban President said he was excited to arrive in this Caribbean sister nation.

At the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, Díaz-Canel was received by the Executive Vice President of Venezuela, Tareck El Aissami, accompanied by Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza.

The Cuban delegation also includes Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rogelio Sierra Díaz; Cuba’s Ambassador in to Venezuela, Rogelio Polanco Fuentes; and the Director for South America at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pedro Pablo Prada Quintero.

Díaz-Canel’s agenda includes official talks this afternoon with his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolás Maduro Moros, at Miraflores Presidential Palace, as well as other activities. Maduro was the first president to travel to Cuba following Díaz-Canel Bermúdez’s election, just 48 hours later.

The Cuban President will also visit the Cuartel de la Montaña, where the remains of the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Comandante Hugo Chávez, are guarded. He will lay a floral wreath at the National Pantheon, where the remains of The Liberator Simón Bolívar are located; and will meet with Cuban doctors working at a Comprehensive Health Center (CDI) in the Venezuelan capital.

The solidarity between Cuba and Venezuela, promoted by Fidel, Raúl and Chávez, is further strengthened through this visit. (Taken from en.granma.cu)
