Swiss Journalist Presents Book with Photos of Che in Cuba

The Swiss journalist René Lechleiter presented a book containing 60 photos of the Cuban-Argentinean guerrilla fighter Ernesto Guevara and entitled »Che: 1ros Años. Fotos Inéditas 1959/1964». (Che: 1st Days, Unpublished Photos 1959/1964).
‘In the book we wanted to show Che as a worker, an educator and a promoter of the construction of a new socialist world in Cuba after the triumph of the Revolution in 1959,’ Lechleiter, who is also member of the Swiss-Cuba Friendship Association, told Prensa Latina.

According to the architect, the negatives were found in the press and photo archive of Granma newspaper, which treasures unpublished images taken by some 20 graphic reporters.

‘We digitized 1,200 photos and 60 of them were published in the book,’ the journalist explained at the book launch at the Casa del Alba Cultural, on the occasion of the Guevarian Year of 2018 declared by the Organization of Solidarity of the Peoples of Africa, Asia and Latin America (Ospaaal).

This Ospaaal initiative began in June 2017 and includes art exhibitions in Cuba and abroad. (Taken from Prensa Latina)
