Cuba Fine Arts National Museum to Honor Prize-winning Artist

The National Museum of Fine Arts (MNBA) of Cuba announced yesterday that it will host an exhibition by the artist José Manuel Fors, who received the National Prize for Plastic Arts 2016.
The sample entitled Palimpsest contains pieces specially designed for the Museum and can be seen from December 22 to February 2018.

According to a statement from the MNBA, the entity considers this exhibition a salutation to the cultural history of man.

Fors received the 2016 National Plastic Arts Award earlier this year for his valuable contribution to the development of the visual arts in this Caribbean country.

Fors’s work includes photography as a means of expression and installation as a technique, with references to history, memory, and ecology.

He is also recognized as one of the representatives of the collective exhibition Volume I, considered a renovator of Cuban art.

The National Prize for Plastic Arts is the highest award granted by the National Council of Plastic Arts and the Ministry of Culture of Cuba. (Taken from Prensa Latina)
