We have come to learn to take advantage of everything that fits our characteristics and can serve us in perfecting the system of Popular Power, said in Hanoi yesterday the President of the Cuban Parliament, Esteban Lazo.

We have vital tasks to fulfill in the missions that correspond to us, especially in the adoption of the legislation we require, as well as in the control of the implementation of the economic and social policy guidelines of the Party and the Revolution, said Lazo, presented by his counterpart and host, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, who offered details of his revolutionary trajectory.

In that sense, he recalled that recently in the 7th Congress of the Party and in the National Assembly, three fundamental documents were approved: Conceptualization of the Cuban Economic and Social Model of Socialist Development; Bases of the Plan of Economic and Social Development until the year 2030: Vision of the Nation. Strategic Axes and Sectors; and Guidelines of the Economic and Social Policy for the period 2016-2021.

Expanding on bilateral ties, he noted that numerous cadres of Cuban institutions and institutions traveled to Vietnam to study their experiences and stressed that ‘in Cuba we are beginning to walk these paths, because we have only five years in updating the Model, while you have been advancing with the Renewal for 30 years.’
