Cuban and Venezuelan Presidents Hold Fraternal Meeting

Cuban President General Raúl Castro Ruz, held a fraternal meeting with President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro, and saw him off at the international airport José Martí.


During the meeting yesterday afternoon, both presidents exchanged about topics of the bilateral agenda and the situation in the region, particularly the results of the extraordinary session of the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS), which unsuccessfully tried to implement the Inter-American Democratic Letter against Venezuela.

They also agreed to stress the significance of the signing og the agreement between the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC-EP), and the need to continue contributing to the final peace agreement in Colombia.

Raúl Castro reiterated Cuba’s unconditional support to President Nicolás Maduro, the Bolivarian government and the people’s civilian-military unity.

President Maduro’s wife Cilia Flores and Foreign Minister Delcy Rodríguez also participated in the meeting. (Taken from Prensa Latina News Agency)
