Cuba has vowed to revitalize the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), which it considers a valuable mechanism for consultation and cooperation among Caribbean states.

During a press conference Friday, deputy director for Latin America and the Caribbean at the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Carlos Zamora, said Cuba will work hard towards regional integration.

Cuba will assume the bloc’s rotating presidency on Tuesday, January 19th, during the 21st Meeting of the ACS Council of Ministers.

Zamora commended the work developed by Haiti as pro-temp president of the Association of Caribbean States since 2013, advancing the interests of the organization’s 25 member states towards sustainable development.

Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez will preside over the Cuban delegation to the upcoming ACS meeting in Haiti. (Taken from Radio Havana Cuba)
