The Cuban eastern city of Holguin, with more than three centuries renovates with its restoration and recovering of emblematic places and buildings with patrimonial values in the historical center that borders Jigue and Maranon Rivers.

Access on foot by pilgrims and tourists to Loma de la Cruz (Cross Mountain) to keep a promise, bless the city or admire it in all its dimensions , was improved with the construction of new stairs made of concrete with more than 450 steps to substitute the bricks which were in real bad conditions.

San Jose old square, one of the foundation and named today Carlos Manuel de Cespedes has been rebuilt taking into consideration its original characteristics, that is, the floor with mud flagstones, with rowlock bricks, which they had to build and has delayed its complete termination.

Due to a great affectation in the popular trade corridor from Calixto Garcia Park, represents a loss of La Campana (Bell) Shop, a building in ruins and was completely rebuilt without changing the environment.

Recovering works mainly carried out by the People’s Power Building Enterprise also include The Beatles’ Cavern, original night club center where permanent tribute is paid to the kids from Liverpool; the Cubita Cafe-Restaurant in a colonial edification in the city’s boulevard; the Natural History Museum (former Spanish colony) and they continue in Julio Grave de Peralta (Las Flores-The Flowers) and Marti Parks, the Marketa Square, Marieta cafeteria and Guayabero Corner, among others.
