Las Terrazas: A Green Paradise in Cuba

There is nothing better for life tan the green that color has the virtue to make the soul happy, inspire lines and dreams. That is why the return to Las Terrazas, a privileged place in Pinar del Rio province which can be considered a paradise.

It has 5, 000 hectares of woods. There are many precious trees everywhere.

Fauna and flora conquer the visitor. According to specialists there are about 800 specimens of plants and more than 70 birds, many of them are endemic. Birds and reptiles appear in the way, as if they say: Here I am, come on, take me a photo! And well, in front of such beauty, you are conquered. And all of it, in a community where each people feel part of the environment and take care of it as if it were their own garden.

Not only families of farmers and workers have decided to make their lives in this western part of Cuba. Plastic artists, artisans and musicians have chosen it to make it the center of their creations. From there, Polo Montañez, the loved songwriter traveled abroad and all over Cuba, who despite his death, he is still giving stars as gifts.

During our tour, it is worth devote to walk this place, located in Sierra del Rosario, a place declared by UNESCO as World Reserve of Biosphere in 1985. You leave with more life once you get into its spots.
