Venzuela Hugo Chávez_front

Rene Camilo Garcia (Student of journalism)

Hudo Chavez Frias would celebrate his 60th birthday on July 28. Venezuela, Cuba and all America remember the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution who died on March 5, 2013, but his legacy is still alive in our nations.

The Cuban people that assumed Chavez as a brother and comrade-in-arms will pay him tribute in activities from July 28 to August 13, with the celebration of his great friend, and the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz.

The activities started with a march from the equestrian monument built in memory to Simon Bolivar on Presidentes Avenue (G Street) in the capital city, Vedado up to the University of Havana where there is stone in memory to his first visit to Cuba in 1994.

Jose Marti Memorial was the venue for the presentation of the book Hugo Chavez. My first life by the Spanish journalist Ignacio Ramonet.

At Morro-Cabanas complex Marti’s Youth Movement reedited the Youth’s Route From Sabaneta to Miraflores (Guantanamo-Ciego de Avila, eastern provinces of Cuba) with stops between two of the communities whose names are symbols of Chavez’ life.
