Rene Gonzalez Calls to Make the Capitol Tremble

Rene Gonzalez, Hero of the Cuban Republic made a call to carry out activities to have the Capitol tremble and get the freedom of his comrade-in-arms in the 9th International Colloquium for the Release of the Cuban Five that was held in Holguin.

He highlighted the importance to make a call to that great popular jury, made up by millions of people all over the world in different ideological trends and religious ones to charge their strength on the prisons and break the chains that hold them.“In this case,” he said, “the balance of justice goes in favor to injustice and revenge not only against us, but also against Cuba and every one having enough moral and determination to face imperialism, because what was solved was a conflict of values among those who conquer, dominate and exploit those who defend and protect sovereignty and life.” “My four brothers are strong men, with a moral on probation, which will always be above the accusing people, all the corrupt judges. They are men who will resist at the level they do not even think about, but they deserve to be here with us,” Rene stressed.

There was a moving moment when Mirtha Rodriguez, Antonio Guerrero’s mother and Irma Sehwerert, Rene Gonzalez’ mother handed in the solidarity Order to the former general district attorney of the United States, Ramsey Clark, during the Open Tribune held in front of thousands of people from the eastern province of Cuba, Holguin, in the 9th International Colloquium.
Clark thanked the decoration granted by agreement of the Council of State of Cuba for his contribution in the struggle for the civil rights and noted that the world should thank the Cubans for the Revolution they have given all the people, as an important gift. It is a Revolution that continues and is an example of dignity.

Representatives from more than 50 countries shared experiences in the plenary sessions of the Fair’s Venue, on the actions carried out in favor to the Cuban Five which are more than 3,000 in the last year, and the initiatives foreseen for the next period. Relatives from Gerardo, Ramon, Antonio, Fernando and Rene emotionally addressed the audience. They all received the Alma Mater Award. Mirtha’s speech was especially moving when she talked about her recent visit to his son Tony.

There were also marathons, meetings with the people and bloggers, cultural galas, voluntary works and the climbing to Cruz Mountain with the logo of the Cuban Five.

The final declaration expresses the need to strengthen the international campaign for the release of the four antiterrorists that are still held in the United States.
