Workplaces Analyze Base Documents of the Union’s Congress

The Base Document of the XX Congress of the Cuban Workers Federation (CTC) is debated in all workplaces of the country. Unionists will discuss the performance of the CTC, the participation of the affiliates in the economy, the promotion of socialist moral values, the international relations and the fight against crime.

During a press meeting, Ermela Garci­a Santiago, member of the organizing commission of the CTC said that the debates will be from October 25 to December 10 and will make the workplaces approach the Congress.

It is not only the fact to attend the meetings, but to participate in all the reflections, differences, opinions and ideas that will make the content of the document rich and state.

Before this period will end the preparation of the union leaders at the national level and in the next weeks, there will finish the one related to the provincial representatives, and later the municipal and base ones.

She also said that besides the analysis of the Base Document, the workers will select the pre candidates to the XX Congress of the CTC and a direct member for the National Council of the CTC, as well as a direct delegate from a group of workplaces selected.

Ermela Garci­a said that this month will also start the discussion of the draft law of the CTC’s Statutes, which will take place in the 10 percent of the workplaces selected and union bureaus.
