Cigars, packaging, agriculture, literature and trade will star in some of the events to be held in Cuba during the year just beginning.

January 29-31, the Packgraf Fair will be held in Pabexpo, Havana, where containers, packaging and graphic arts will be the focus of attention as part of the Cuban government’s plans to increase production and replace imports.

One of the most long-awaited events of the year in Cuba and with the largest international attendance will take place from February 18th to 22nd at the Convention Center: the Habano Festival, this time in its 21st edition.

Habano cigar lovers from more than 50 countries will enjoy a complete program of activities to get to know, first hand, everything about this exclusive product, informed the Cuba Chamber of Commerce to Business in Cuba, Prensa Latina’s newspaper.

The most prestigious brands’ new launches will be announced during the Festival in a very special edition. The program will include master classes and conferences, led by renowned experts, as well as visits to tobacco plantations and producing factories.

February will feature another event with the Havana International Book Fair, one of the most important fairs of the year in the country.

It is an event for dialogue about literature among the more than 40 countries that habitually participate.

The Rancho Boyeros exhibition center hosts the annual Fiagrop International Agrifood Fair, dedicated to inputs, agrifood and veterinary products, agricultural machinery and livestock.

The 16th Expocaribe International Fair, to be held in the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba, is scheduled for the second half of June.

The event provides a space for sustaining and arranging business for Caribbean economies, said Roberto Verrier, Director of the Center for the Promotion of Foreign Trade and Investment (Procuba).

It also represents Cuba’s willingness to give special treatment to Caribbean nations, with which the country has, strong political ties and aims to raise economic ties, Verrier said last November during the 36th Havana International Fair (Fihav 2018).

The 37th Havana International Fair (Fihav 2019) will take place almost closing the year, from October 28 to November 1.

This fair is the most important general commercial exchange in Cuba and one of the most representative in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The participation of more than 3,000 exhibitors and professional visitors from more than 70 countries is expected, according to the information released by the Chamber of Commerce.

The program highlights a foreign investment forum, sectorial panels and business rounds among investors. (Taken from Prensa Latina)
