Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel checked the road repair and maintenance program in the island, an encounter in which he called for increasing efforts in this sector, national television reported.

The source said the President insisted on the importance of addressing the difficulties in the country’s roads in time, in order that it does not become too complicated to fix potholes.

Also, he gave instructions to incorporate equipment and local production materials to streamline the program.

For his part, Cuban Minister of Transport, Adel Yzquierdo, mentioned actions to stabilize the maintenance, from the main and secondary to rural roads.

Yzquierdo said equipment and resources have been incorporated to guarantee the operation of the program, both nationally and in the capital.

The bad condition or poor state of roads, avenues and streets is one of the concerns of the authorities of the country and territories, for the economic and social impact it represents.

Regarding this aspect, a maintenance program was activated, which Díaz-Canel called to continue systematically. (Taken from Prensa Latina)
