The permanent working commissions of the Cuban National Assembly of People’s Power begin on Wednesday a public hearing period against the blockade imposed by the United States on the Caribbean island for almost 60 years.
All meetings will be presided over by parliamentarians and will be held during this month, prior to the presentation on October 31 at UN General Assembly of a Cuban draft resolution demanding the end of the U.S. economic, financial and commercial siege.

According to the document, which includes from April 2017 to March 2018, the U.S. hostile policy has worsened, continues to apply rigorously and has caused losses to Cuba for about $4.32 million USD.

Since 1992, the island’s initiative has had a majority support in the main UN body.

On the last three occasions, 191 of 193 member states of the international body supported the resolution. In 2017, only the United States and Israel voted against it. (Taken from Prensa Latina)
