Cuba Seeks Growth in Congress and Meeting Tourism, Minister Says

The Minister of Tourism of Cuba, Manuel Marrero, has categorized today as one of the specialties in clear development here to congresses, meetings and incentive trips.
Marrero welcomed participants to the 22nd edition of MITM Americas-Meetings and Incentive Travel Market, which runs until September 21 at the Melia Cohiba Hotel in Havana.

The event is attended by 200 people from 27 countries, and during these days there are more than four thousand business appointments which can generate in the medium and long term more than 226 million 908 thousand dollars.

With this opportunity, MITM has accumulated 48 fairs, in 34 cities of 18 nations, and this is the third time in Cuba, because it was previously organized in Varadero (2004) and Havana (2009).

The Minister said that this year Cuba hosted a series of events such as the 38th International Tourism Fair, the 68th Ernest Hemingway International Fishing Tournament, the 10th Varadero Gourmet International Fair, and the Varadero Jazz and Son.

He also pointed out that from September 17 to 22, the seventh nature photography contest will be held in the center of the island, among others, all of which demonstrate the importance of this type of tourism that MITM Americas attends. (Taken from Prensa Latina)
