Yesterday afternoon, August 21, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of Cuba’s Councils of State and Ministers, received Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Workers’ Party of Korea Central Committee Political Bureau and Vice Chairman of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea State Affairs Commission, who is making an visit to our country as the special envoy of

Kim Jong Un, president of the Workers’ Party of Korea and of the DPRK State Committee.

Choe Ryong Hae delivered letters from Marshall Kim Jong Un to Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, Party first secretary, and President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.

During the fraternal meeting, the two leaders reaffirmed the excellent relations shared by their respective, peoples, parties, and governments, based on the historic relationship maintained by Great Leader Kim II Sung and Comandante en Jefe Fidel Castro Ruz. They additionally discussed issues of mutual interest on the international agenda.

Accompanying the distinguished guest were Ryu Myong Son, deputy director of the Workers’ Party Central Committee’s International Affairs Department; Pak Chang Yul, DPRK ambassador in Cuba; and Ri Chol Song, functionary in the Workers’ Party International Affairs Department.

On the Cuban side, also participating were Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Foreign Minister and Political Bureau member; the Foreign Ministry’s Director General of Bilateral Affairs, Emilio Lozada García; and Cuba’s ambassador in the DPRK, Jesús Aise Sotolongo. (Taken from en.granma.cu)
