Swiss MP Mathias Reynard described as democratic the popular consultation started in Cuba so the people can analyze and express their opinion on a draft Constitution, parliamentary sources of the island reported.
During his visit to the Havana Capitol, institutional headquarters of the People’s Power National Assembly, Reynard described as progressive the proposals of the new Constitution, especially about marriage.

The lawmaker, who lamented the media’s silence in his country regarding the popular consultation, was particularly interested in the economic changes introduced in the Law of laws, and how they can influence in the development of the Caribbean country, the website of the Cuban parliament referred.

This process began yesterday and will last on November 15.

Mathias Reynard also commented on the work of the Friendship Group with Cuba the Swiss Parliament presides over, which maintains a close relation with the Cuban ambassador to that nation.

He also called for the development of actions that favor relations between the parliaments of Cuba and Switzerland, because he affirmed: ‘there is much to learn on both sides.’ (Taken from Prensa Latina)
