The Cuban Arts Festival that takes place in the United States is a reciprocal gain for the two countries, said the dancer and choreographer of the island, Irene Rodriguez.
According to the artist, who last night conquered the local audience with a show by the dance company that bears her name, this has been a great experience for all the Cuban creators who take part in it.

In general the event brings together nearly 400 figures of cultural expressions such as music, visual arts, theater, dance and design at the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington DC, in what is the largest cultural event dedicated to the Antillean nation in the United States.

We artists have come together from different disciplines, we had several meetings in which we shared and expressed what we were going to do in this place, and each one brought the best of their work, told the dancer in a dialogue with Prensa Latina.

Besides highlighting the importance of this festival for creators of the Caribbean country, the director of the Irene Rodriguez Company indicated that it is also a tremendous opportunity for the US public, having in the same space such a big talent from the island.

‘All our artists in the different disciplines are great and have given their best to make Cuban culture stand out,’ added the woman who impressed the US capital with her show Desde nuestros raices (From our Roots).

‘I am very proud, it has been great the welcome, the audience, the applause, it is a pleasure, a night I will never forget’, she said excited about the signs of approval of those who attended this Tuesday the Theater of the Kennedy Center Terrace to see her group’s performance.
