Visual arts, music and dance will be combined during the expected performance by the renowned Cuban artist Manuel Mendive in the United States, as part of a festival dedicated to his country.
‘Don’t miss a unique opportunity to watch Mendive exercise his creativity and painting skills on a live section of one of his sculptures, accompanied by musicians and dancers. It’s visual arts, music, and dance all integrated into a once-in-a-lifetime performance! That was the call by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC, whose Eisenhower Theater will host Mendive’s performance.

Mendive’s performance is part of the event ‘Artes de Cuba: from the Island to the World’, which opened on May 8 and will conclude on June 3.

Mendive’s special guests will be Yosvany Terry, a Cuban saxophonist and composers based in New York; the percussionist Mauricio Herrera, who also resides in the Big Apple, and the classical pianist Adonis González, who lives in Atlanta, Georgia.

In addition to Mendive’s performance, the festival’s program on Monday also includes the show Art and Fashion at the Millennium Stage, where Sandra de Huelbes, Ignacio Carmona, Otto Chaviano, Mariela Alemán and Celia Ledón will exhibit their works.

This extraordinary mixture of imagination, fine arts and design presents costumes inspired in paintings and sculptures by Cuban artists, the Kennedy Center announced. (Taken from Prensa Latina)
