The National Electoral Commission (CEN) has convened a message action through Twitter on November 23 and 24 to support the elections of the municipal delegates to be held on November 26, local media reported.
With the tags #PorCuba, #VotoPorTi and #Cuba, Twitter users can show the reasons why they attend the polls, said the press release published in Granma newspaper.

The massive Twitter action from that microblogging network will start at 10:00 local time until 13:00.

The official accounts of the CEN are @Elecciones_Cuba, on Twitter; @EleccionesEnCuba, on Facebook; and https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAPyw5Uk_kq2-24yM4V29rw/videos, on Youtube.

The first round to elect the delegates to the municipal People’s Power assemblies will be held on November 26.

A runoff will be held on December 3 in those districts where no candidate obtains more than 50 percent of the valid votes cast.

The CEN informed on November 2 about the conclusion of the first stage of the Cuban electoral process, which had an attendance of 78 percent.

According to the Commission, about 60,870 proposals were made, in which 27,221 candidates were nominated.

Of that total, 9,637 are women, representing 35.40 percent; while 5,307 are young people, equivalent to 19.49 percent.

The Council of State changed on September 19 the plan for the first stage of the elections due to the impact of Hurricane Irma as it passed through the island. (Taken from Prensa Latina)
