With the satisfaction of the mission accomplished, the collaborators of the Cuban Medical Brigade are returning to their daily activities after providing more than 21,000 free medical consultations during the Cochabamba Health Fair.
More than 100 volunteers and their Bolivian colleagues consulted low-income people living in rural areas, among them children with their mothers, young people and elderly people who were eager to receive a correct diagnosis.

From August 18 to 20, health professionals sent emergency cases to nearby hospitals and alleviated the physical and spiritual discomfort of many people by providing quality care free of charge.

Despite the fair included about 20 specialties, the most demanded ones were: Comprehensive General Medicine, Ophthalmology, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Gynecology, Orthopedics and Traumatology, Allergology, Otorhinolaryngology and Dermatology.

Boosted by the government of President Evo Morales, the initiative included cataract and other eye diseases.

The medicines prescribed to patients regardless of age or social background were also free of charge.

During the three days of the fair, thousands of people attended since early morning the surrounding area of the Coordinating Committee of the Six Federations of the Tropic of Cochabamba. (Taken from Prensa Latina)
