Experts Discuss on Swine Genetics in Cuba

More than 200 experts from 16 countries discussed yesterday on genetics and reproduction of pigs, issues of two of eight workshops to be held during the second day of the Seventh International Seminar on Tropical Swine Production.
The participants in this event, organized by the Institute of Porcine Research, are examining the current situation of this branch and the ways to make it more efficient.

Biogas, climate change, health, classical swine fever in Cuba, food safety and pork quality are among the issues of the forum, to be run until Friday, May 26th. The seminar also includes a speech by the representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization, Theodor Friedrich.

Carlos Buxade, professor of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, and other personalities, will also attend the event.

According to its organizers, specialists from 39 Cuban institutions, including pork companies, universities and scientific institutions are participating in the seminar. (Taken from Prensa Latina)
