Cuban Delegation invited to MPLA Congress Pays tribute to Neto

The Cuban delegation invited to the VII ordinary Congress of the ruling MPLA, which closes its curtains today, paid tribute to the First president of Angola, Agostinho Neto, by visiting his memorial, in Luanda.

‘The world will never forget a man like Agostinho Neto who because of his deep love to men and women that make up the Angolan people, fought ending in the independence of this nation’, wrote on the Book of Honor to the visitors to this building , Jose Ramon Balaguer, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee fo the Cuban Communist Party (PCC) who heads the small delegation of the Caribbean Island to the meeting.

He labeled Neto a poet, writer, military chief, political leader, founder of the Popular Liberation Movement of Angola (MPLA), that he constituted as a party and ‘we the Cubans feel this land as our and the Angolan people are very deep in our hearts’.

After entering the Memorial, on behalf of the 21 foreign delegations invited to the VII Congress, Balaguer laid a wreath to the Neto’s sarcophagus. (Taken from Prensa Latina News Agency)
