Cuban President Raul Castro will pay an official visit to France on February 1 and 2, at the invitation of his French counterpart, Francois Hollande, announced on Monday Deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra.

Speaking to reporters at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sierra said that the trip to Paris –announced by the Cuban leader on December 29 at the Parliament, confirms the excellent state of bilateral relations and of political dialogue at the highest level, Cubasi reported on January 18.

Also, he said, he will give continuity to the successful visit by Hollande to Havana on May 11, 2015.

The new meeting will ratify Cuba’s willingness to expand and diversify bilateral relations in their political, economic, commercial, financial, investment, cooperation and cultural dimensions, the deputy foreign minister stated.

«France is an important partner for Cuba, with which we maintain significant bonds of cooperation and mutual understanding,» highlighted Sierra. (Taken from Cuban News Agency)
