Cuba: Candidate Nomination Process Ends

elecciones-cuba-2015The nomination of candidate process of delegates to the municipal assemblies to the People’s Power will end in Cuba as scheduled on March 25 as it was reported to Trabajadores Newspaper by Ruben Perez, deputy president of the National Electoral Commission (NEC).

Until March 21, there had been held 46,305 assemblies from 46, 345 scheduled, and there were just 40 assemblies pending to be held and generally, the attendance of the population was massive.

From the 27,378 people nominated, 9, 816 are women that represent the 35, 85 percent and 5,455 are young people representing the 19, 92 percent.

Ruben Perez stressed that parallel to this process of nomination that started on February 24, the municipal electoral commissions have been preparing the biographies of the candidates, which will be exposed from March 30 and 31.

Likewise, from March 16 to 17 there were published the lists of voters in those places more visited by the population.

At present they are working in the verification of the data, with which they will work in the electoral commissions of each district and the electoral tables, supported by the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution and the offices where the ID is processed. These tasks should end next April 8, days before the 19, when the partial elections will be held.
