???????????????????????????????Diabetes is the most dangerous disease that exists; in fact, at present it is affecting about 382 million people worldwide, and it is estimated for 2035, the amount will reach 592 millions.

The key of the recent activities carried out to fight diabetes mellitus was to make people be aware on the need to have a healthy diet and do physical exercises.

Just 15 minutes of physical exercises every day, reduces to 14 percent the possibilities of corporal overweight.

Specialists suggest that 152 minutes every week could be enough to eliminate sedentary characteristics in our behavior.

Some advices in a healthy diet are not to eat pork more than twice or three times a week.

It has been demonstrated that you can have a varied and healthy diet eating chicken, fish and eggs.
Be careful with disserts! It is important avoid the excess in eating sugars, beverages with high level of syrup and the cakes and products made of wheat which do not contain fiber and are integral, as well as the breads.

You can consume fruits and vegetables without problems, and even more for those people who tend to suffer diabetes, because they eat a lot of food that will help to prevent other degenerative chronic diseases and cancer.

Diabetes is the eighth cause of death in our population and it is considered as emergent, that is, it goes parallel to the increase of the risky factors like obesity and the lack of physical activity.

According to specialists, diabetes mellitus characterizes for chronic hyper glycemia and alterations in metabolism in relation to the carbohydrates, the fats and proteins derived from anomalies in the secretion or the effect of insulin.

Data from the Statistics National Department of the Cuban Ministry of Health (MINSAP) says the number of people suffering diabetes type 2 is increasing all over the world, and mainly in developing countries. We believe that for 2030 the figures will be alarming due to the quick increase of overweight, obesity and sedentary lifestyle.
