The famous and luxurious shows of the Continental Cabarets from Varadero, Tropicana and the Parisien will perform at Lazaro Peña Theater on November 22 and 23 to celebrate the 55 anniversary of Turarte S.A., the Agency of Artistic Shows from the Ministry of Tourism.
Glamour and Cuban cultural expressions will be in the performances to be exhibited by the artistic directors Frank Olivera and Efrain Sabas, who have selected for this occasion the best from Turarte’s catalogue founded on November 20, 1959 with the goal to satisfy the cultural demand of the hotels and touristic’ facilities in Cuba, as well as the tailoring and dressmaking, as well as the scenery and the props in each performance.
Turarte has a head office and 7 subsidiaries in 7 provinces and more than 1, 500 artists in catalogues in 236 formats where there is a mixture of music, dance and other indispensible specialties in show world. The well known personalities like teachers Tomas Morales Villena, Andres Gutierrez Gonzalez and Rafael Hernandez Fauret have devoted their lives for decades to the art in the cabaret and have highlighted Cuba’s artistic values worldwide by this Agency.
Their job and the universe of the musicians, dancers and artists from the cabaret has been recognized, specially for the prestige achieved by the shows in Tropicana, in Parisien located in the Cuban National Hotel and the Continental in the International Hotel in Varadero, insignia facilities from tourism in Cuba. Their performances have been performed abroad and they have been well welcomed as it was at the Rain Forest Theatre, from Crystal Marriot Resort, in Bahamas. It has also been recognized in the tailoring and dressmaking for films and plays, the participation in international contests in fashion, and other branches of Tourism.
With the performances this week at Lazaro Peña Theater in the heart of Havana, Turarte pretends to approach its catalogue and the artistic patrimony of the cabarets, to the audience attending those events with the goal to strengthen the image and prestige of the Agency either in the national or international market.
In that occasion, artistic directors will mix the scenes of glamour, with those categorized as rural and Afro. There will also perform the Turarte Jazz band, as well as dancers, soloists, musical and artistic groups from the circus of the Agency to recreate two different shows where the common thing will be the expressions of Cuban art. On behalf of the anniversary and with the purpose to multiply its incomes, the Agency studies the possibility to get into new markets; among them those related to tourism of great development and grow in Cuba, like Holguin (where it is already present) and the keys on the north of Ciego de Avila and Camaguey.
