In the closing of the First National Conference of the National Association of Innovators and Rationalizations (Anir) held on October 7 and 8, Ulises Gilarte, first secretary of the Cuban Workers Federation addressed the audience and stressed that Anir has the capacity to charge, organize and mobilize the infinitive creative power of the workers in search of the many solutions of the problems in the workplaces in production, teaching and research.

In this event, with the slogan “make good use of the available resources”, there were great critics and helped strengthened the leaderships of the more than 11, 200 Innovation and Rationalization Committees.

In this sense, it is worth say that the main ideas expressed are focused on the need to increase the performance of the work in the base. He also told the delegates the importance of this event when Cuba is in a moment of changes and transformations aimed to improve and update our economic model.

Our economy is currently facing difficulties like technical obsolesce in the industry; lack of finance means to purchase spare parts and resources to increase production. The strengthening of the economic, finance and commercial blockade against Cuba by the United States (U.S.) hampers the purchase of most of the means needed in the several branches.

As union, we have the task to prioritize the battle to minimize all that can affect efficiency.

What Anir has done is part of the patrimony in our revolutionary work.

In several of the Guidelines of the 6th Congress of the Cuban Communist Party, there are passed some issues related to Anir. The first is planning, including rationalization in the use of resources. There are others like saving, substitution of imports, the increase of productivity and the policy in science technology, innovations and environment.

The 20th Congress of the CTC also stressed the strengthening of the government in Anir movement, so it can fulfill the task it should in the workplaces.

Since 2007, there have been important transformations in the structure and composition of Anir’s members.
