The authorities from the Mexican state of Veracruz and the organizing committee of the 22nd Central American and the Caribbean Games (Cover) insists on the celebration of the best regional sports event of the history from November 14 to 30.

His promise is based on the experience of the staff responsible for the support given by the national government in the enthusiasm of the fans from Veracruz and in the invoice of the competitive infrastructure that will leave the lid as legacy to the young generations.

Recent news have confirmed important advances in organization, just when the calendar says there are 39 days left to light the torch and they are crucial moments to sell the tickets, the final registration of the delegations and the beginning of the round with the Central Caribbean torch.

It is expected the attendance of about 5, 700 athletes from 31 countries that will participate in 36 sports and 46 disciplines. There will work 7,500 volunteers and there will be sits on the stands for about 1.2 million spectators.

Super Tickets Enterprise will trade the ballots from October 20th on, with available prices that go from 20.00 to 300.00 Mexican pesos (1.50 to 22.00 dollars). Nine competitions will be free and the most expensive ones will be the opening and closing ceremonies of about 30.00 and 75.00 USD, according to the current exchange.

The athletes will be accommodated in 50 hotels, facilities that have charged half of the contracts, but that are being thoroughly evaluated to guarantee excellence in services. In aspects such as the good quality of the food, and the water, life conditions and security systems are aspects to check.

In relation to the last aspect mentioned, it is known that state and private federal authorities will protect the State with about 7, 500 officers, whose task will be to preserve integrity of the sports staff, the press accredited , the tourists and the local fans.

The burning topic right now is the handing in of the facilities for competitions, whose chronogram reaches November 10.

ODECABE asserts they are fundamentally finished; highlights the technical equipment available and catalogues the facilities as monumental like Xalapa’s Cycle Track and the arenas Veracruz and Cordova. However, several competitions of tests have been cancelled and some works do not exceed the 80 percent of the execution.

Time is making pressure, there is the zero hour to Veracruz, but the promise of the best games in history is still on. We’ll see…
