EU-LATINAMERICA/We have just proclaimed the Cuban proposal, Latin America and the Caribbean as peace zone, alien to the use of the force finding a solution to the conflicts existing and others that invariably could come, as they take place in the best neighbours and adjacent countries. Isn’t it the wisest political behavior?

Above all, Havana Summit demonstrated CELAC’s goal to promote development in each of our countries to avoid poverty, hunger and increase welfare for its member countries. Because we need greater advances in the scientific, cultural and energy fields, so that men and women in our societies, could contribute more in benefit to their own welfare and the nation they live in.

According to President Dilma Rousseff, we have learned that “prosperity of some could turn in richness of all.” CELAC opens the doors to economic collaboration projects, as example we can mention Mariel’s Special Development Zone, in Cuba where the first Containers’ Station was inaugurated matching the celebration of the Summit.

We also have the Cuban medical collaboration in Brazil with thousands of doctors in those regions where people have never received health assistance before.

Not few leaders highlighted in the oval hall in Pabexpo, the struggle against the division between poor and rich people, “a distinctive characteristic of the region”, and the need to give a solution to the lack of industry that hampers make better use of our resources. Cristina Kirchner said that “if there is no employment, it is impossible to have purchasing power to our raw materials, so we will continue with the dependence.”

In his closing speech during the II CELAC Summit, President Raul Castro said: “We need to change the economic order existing in the world to eradicate poverty, encourage solidarity and cooperation and demand the fulfilment of the obligations contracted to help development.”

During those days of dialogue between presidents started the fruition of the “great policy” mentioned by Maduro and the need to meet in the way to walk together came true, in which nothing will stop us be united in this adverse world.
