Osleni Reaches the 60th Position in the Ranking

28442-fotografia-gBadminton player Osleni Guerrero has just won the Open tournament from Santo Domingo and, with that action, the young man, originally from Havana, has reached the 60th position of the world, an unprecedented performance for the Cuban badminton players.

Osleni won the Pan-American title on Sunday, October 27 in Santo Domingo and he now has 22,980 valid points for the universal list and he only has the American Sattawat Pognairat before (46th position with 27,580 units).

Guerrero won the first place of the Open in Santo Domingo after he won in continuous sets the also American Howard Shu (21-16 and 21-6).

In this tournament the masculine duet Leodannis Martinez and Ernesto Reyes won bronze, after the Jamaican and Brazilian duets that won gold and silver.

The Cuban players’ return was scheduled for Friday, November 1. They will participate in some other competitions to guarantee their participation in the Central American Games in Veracruz 2014.
