Voces para los Cinco reúne a figuras de las artes, los medios, el sector legal y las ONGs.

The website www.voicesforthefive.com has asked people from all over the world in a press release, to register on line and join the support of thousand well known people worldwide demanding the freedom of four brothers from the five antiterrorist fighters who are unjustly still held in the United States since 1998.

John Le Carro, Ricardo Alarcon, Emma Thompson, Miguel De’Escoto Brockmann, Lord Rowan Williams, Fernando Morais, Noam Chomsky, Adolfo Perez Esquivel and Gunter Grass are some of the personalities that had joined the website for justice for Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labanino, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando Gonzalez who have been for more than 15 years held in prison. Rene Gonzalez already served his unjust sentence and he could return to the Cuban homeland and his family.

Voices for the Cuban Five meet personalities from the arts, the media, legal branch and the NGOs to demand the immediate liberation of those brave men arrested since 1998 while they were trying to dismantle terrorist actions against the Cuban people.

The release reminds that International Amnesty has denounced the process and treatment they have received and are receiving in their imprisonments because it is “contrary to the norms of human being treatment of the inmates and the obligation of the State to protect the family life.”

The campaign announces the plans for an “important International Investigation Commission about the case that will last two days in London on Mach 7 and 8, 2014 in the venue of the very prestigious Law Society, in the heart of the legal zone of the British capital.

The Commission will hear testimonies from Rene Gonzalez, relatives from the victims of terrorism against Cuba and the lawyers, politicians and Cuban activists all over the world.

The British lawyer, Michael Mansfield has declared to this call of solidarity and justice: “I am pleased to support the Investigation about the case of the Cuban Five that will be called in London. It will be worth as an expression of the truth said by the people. We cannot trust the politicians will carry out such initiative.”

Dave Prentis, secretary general of Unison (union from the public branch) that represents a million workers declared: “Unison has participated in the movement for justice for the Cuban Five, who have been unjustly incarcerated for 15 years. We are also participating in the International Investigation Commission on the case, which will take place during spring next year. “We are not going to rest until we get full support for the Cuban Five.”

Besides the Investigation Commission, there will be some manifestations, concerts, exhibitions and other cultural and media activities to join more people, so we can promote more international support and spread the consciousness about this cause.

The whole list of those who have joined the call can be found in the website.
