At the Doors of the 53 National Baseball Championship

On October 29, the 16 managers of the baseball teams have passed the regulations of the 53 National Baseball Championships, where 72 new players will participate. Those athletes that are sent off the game will be fined with 200.00 (Cuban currency), while the video will be used for the first time to rectify some moves, among the few changes done compared to the previous championship.

The so expected Technical Council was more peaceful than the ones before and they informed that among the activities carried out there were refereeing trials, as well as updating courses for coaches in batting and pitching, and seminars for managers.

The calendars were scheduled in four: from Monday to Sunday 1:15 P.M. or 7:15 P.M. if there is TV broadcasting or the provinces ask for it five days before they take place. On Saturdays at 4:15 P.M. while on Sundays, they will start at 2:15 P.M. just in those matches with television serials. Among the data for this championship there are the 72 new players, including 33 pitchers among them. Ciego de Avila team has the greatest quality of them with 9. Meanwhile, in the 512 baseball players, there are 107 left hand players (pitchers) and 8 ambidextrous. The only team that made some changes was Industriales with Juan Carlos Torriente and Jorge Aloma Herrera, while Roger Machado informed that at Jose Ramon Cepero Stadium, the games will take place at night from Monday to Friday.

In relation to the fine of 200.00 (Cuban currency) for those sent off the gamer, they agreed the athlete will be able to play in the next match, something that arose controversy in the media, because, although it is like this in many of the international leagues, in the case of Cuba, they could continue with punishment in the next game too, taking into consideration the most important thing is not the money but the educative matter.

On the application of the replay in those revocation moves, they will establish in advance, which will be the managers that will have the possibility to complain a move before the sixth inning, from the seventh to the ninth just two and no more if they are in extra inning.

Finally, the managers informed about their players that will open the first game which will be officially announced at Augusto Cesar Sandino Stadium in Santa Clara, in a game champions vs. runner-up, although at the same time the other teams will go to the field in seven more stadiums of the country.

Freddy Asiel Alvarez and Yoanni Yera will be the pitchers from Villa Clara and Matanzas. The match in Artemisa will be between Jonder Martinez and Yoelkis Cruz from Las Tunas, while in Mayabeque will be Ariel Miranda vs. Noelvis Entenza from Cienfuegos.

At Candido Gonzalez Stadium in Camaguey, the new players from the last championship, Norge Luis Ruiz will pitch against Alberto Soto; in Holguin, Carlos Gonzalez will try to do his best in from of his fans against the star Vladimir Garci­a, while the duel will be between Ismel Jimenez from Sancti Spiritus and Frank Navarro from Guantanamo and finally Ian Rendon from Industriales will play against Danny Betancourt in Santiago de Cuba.
