The Cuban Workers Federation (CTC) in Las Tunas calls all its members to carry out activities in favor to the cleaning of the workplaces and improve sanitary conditions to prevent vectors that can threaten human health.

The call is due to the detection of some source of infection with the Aedes Aegyptis mosquito in different stages of its evolution, for the lack of surveillance in the surrounding areas of the workplaces.

In September there were detected in some entities, 21 sources of infection of this agent that transmits dengue fever. This happens for the lack of systematic measures to fight such flagellum.

These negative actions have helped the proliferation of this illness that claims intensive care. According to statistics, until September this year, the territory has 4,679 sources of infection; 1,215 more compared to 2012.

Elena Chaguez Leyva, secretary general of the CTC in Las Tunas stressed on the responsibility of the administrations and the unions to carry out strong actions, reorganize brigades for self control of the vector and give priority to it.

The call reminds the roll that can play the workers during voluntary works devoted to the clearing of the areas around the workplaces, also taking into consideration the raining season.
